Richard Supple Quoted in Law360 Article on NY Ruling Strengthening the Shield for In-House Ethics Advice

J. Richard Supple Jr., Partner-in-Charge of the New York office and member of the Lawyers for the Profession® group at Hinshaw & Culbertson LLP, was quoted in the article "NY Ruling Strengthens Shield For In-House Ethics Advice," published by Law360 on July 13, 2016. 

The article discuses a recent New York appeals court decision backing the right of lawyers to keep ethical guidance from general counsels confidential, saying the privilege will encourage discussions that protect clients as well as attorneys and their firms. Mr. Supple is quoted as saying "One of the things I think the court got right here is that prompt and candid communications can help the client as much as the lawyer because if someone screws up a case or blows a deadline, there might be something salvageable if it's addressed promptly."
