Michael Stephenson is an experienced litigator who handles civil matters in state and federal courts. He represents government entities and their employees, including local municipalities, state’s attorneys, school districts, and teachers. Michael is well-versed in cases involving civil rights under Section 1983, malicious prosecution, willful and wanton conduct, prosecutorial immunity, qualified immunity, and tort immunity. He also represents and advises contractors in a variety of complex legal matters, including breach of contract, fraud, commercial torts, and business partner disputes.

Michael previously served as an Assistant Attorney General for the Office of the Illinois Attorney General. He has extensive experience representing the State of Illinois and its employees in federal court, where he chaired several federal jury trials.
