Mohamed F. Sweify Appointed to List of Arbitrators of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) Arbitration and Mediation Center

The WIPO is recognized globally as the premier worldwide arbitral institution for resolving commercial disputes, especially involving intellectual property (IP) and technology.

WIPO administers various alternative dispute resolution procedures—such as mediation, arbitration, and expert determination—covering issues like patent and software licenses, distribution agreements, and copyright matters. Mohamed is a bilingual, dual-qualified attorney with extensive experience in complex litigation and alternative dispute resolution. He represents clients in domestic and international disputes spanning a wide range of industries, including commercial, financial services, telecommunications, intellectual property rights, securities, business partnerships, insurance and reinsurance, lenders-related contracts, shareholders, investor-state and investment, construction, digital assets, cryptocurrency, and tech-related disputes. Mohamed has a strong track record in handling motions, trials, and appeals before federal and state courts.

Mohamed is particularly recognized for his experience in cross-border matters, investor-state disputes, and the enforcement of arbitral awards. He has received recognition in the "40 Under 40" directories of both the Arab American Foundation and the Middle East Policy Council. Mohamed is a Delegate of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) Commission on Arbitration and ADR (2022-2024) that contributes to the global development of the arbitration and ADR practice.

In 2022, Mohamed was awarded the Africa's 30 Most Promising Arbitration Practitioners Award. Besides his counsel practice, Mohamed serves as an international arbitrator in complex disputes and a lecturer of law at Fordham Law School. Mohamed is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators and serves as the Chair-Elect of the Egypt Chapter at the New York State Bar Association's (NYSBA) International Section.
