Hinshaw Partners Score Significant Win Before Illinois Supreme Court

Hinshaw & Culbertson LLP partners David M. Schultz, Stephen R. Swofford and John P. Ryan successfully concluded a case in the Illinois Supreme Court. The ruling, handed down February 27, 2015, represents an important decision in cases involving arguments of voidable versus void judgment.

The National Association of Retail Collection Attorneys (NARCA) featured this win in the article "NARCA Member Firm Wins Big in Illinois Supreme Court" published in their weekly update. In the article, David Schultz is quoted as saying "The ruling by the Illinois Supreme Court is important for the industry...[it] will benefit the lawyers handling those collection cases for debt buyers that may have needed a license."
