Minneapolis NAWL Roundtable Discussion: "The Choices We Make: Alternatives to Private Practice and Why Women Pursue Them"

At an event sponsored by the National Association of Women Lawyers (NAWL), women attorneys in the Minneapolis office put together a roundtable discussion on “The Choices We Make: Alternatives to Private Practice and Why Women Pursue Them.” The panelists included Paulette S. Sarp and Suzanne L. Jones (from the Minneapolis office); they discussed alternative career paths available to women and the circumstances that influence their decisions. The panelists were women at different stages of their careers in public service, private practice and corporate America. In addition to Hinshaw attorneys, other panelists included: The Honorable Jeanne J. Graham, Magistrate Judge for the United States District Court of Minnesota; Cheryl Hauch, Associate Corporate Counsel at Best Buy; Angela B. Brandt, Partner, Larson King and NAWL board member; Ellen G. Sampson, Shareholder, Leonard Street & Deinard; Jackie Chase, Senior Vice President of Human Resources, Prime Therapeutics; Sarah Kerrigan, Prosecutor, Minneapolis City Attorney’s Office; and Angela M. Hoppe, Claims Attorney, Minnesota Lawyers Mutual Insurance Company. After the seminar, the Minneapolis women hosted a wine and cheese networking reception for all participants.
