Aimee Delaney Discusses Considerations for Employers Related to COVID-19 Vaccinations

Chicago-based partner Aimee Delaney was recently quoted in an article in The Business Journals discussing various disconnects that have emerged between employers and employees as work-related dynamics have changed during the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

One such divide concerns COVID-19 vaccinations. On the subject of employers that want to mandate vaccinations as a precondition to returning to the workplace—and some employees' reluctance or refusal to get a vaccination—Delaney cautions that "many companies can't risk potential fallout from employees." She adds, "The acceptance level of the vaccine would create a workforce issue in a lot of industries that didn't have the luxury of being able to get rid of 75% of their workforce that wasn't vaccinated."
