Tom Luetkemeyer Discusses Handling Impaired Lawyers at LMRM

March 9, 2018

Hinshaw's Tom Luetkemeyer was featured in the article "Panelists Address How to Handle a Lawyer Who Is Impaired," published by Law360. The article discusses the panel "Navigating Troubled Waters: Dealing With the Impaired Lawyer," which addressed how law firms, colleagues and others must balance ethical considerations to the client, obligations under the Americans with Disabilities Act and firm governance issues. The panel discussion also offered insight on how firms and lawyers should respond when they suspect a fellow attorney is struggling with cognitive impairments, and specifically Alzheimer's Disease. The presentation was one of many given at the 17th Annual Legal Malpractice and Risk Management (LMRM) Conference in Chicago, hosted by Hinshaw.
