Anthony Davis Writes about Client Confidentiality, Crossing International Borders, Lawyers Discussing Clients on Social Media, and an Ethics Opinion on Avvo

November 27, 2017

Anthony Davis, a New York-based partner in the Lawyers for the Profession® group at Hinshaw & Culbertson LLP, authored a New York Law Journal article titled "Client Confidentiality, Crossing International Borders, and an Opinion on Avvo." In this November edition of his regular NYLJ column, Davis updates his previous column regarding the ethical issues that arise when lawyers travel internationally while carrying electronic devices containing client confidential information, and also highlights two recent ethics opinions, one addressing confidentiality concerns when lawyers discuss client matters on social media, and one outlawing participation in Avvo by New York lawyers.
