Scott Seaman to Speak at DRI Symposium on Recoupment and Allocation of Liability Coverage Between Covered and Noncovered Claims

Hinshaw's Scott Seaman—a Chicago-based partner and co-chair of the firm's global Insurance Services Practice Group—will present at the DRI's Insurance Coverage and Practice Symposium on December 5, 2019 in New York. In a presentation titled "'One for You, Two for Me': Allocation of Liability Coverage Between Covered and Noncovered Claims," Seaman will discuss obligations for the insurer's defense, as well as indemnifications obligations, when recoupment is available, and how insurers can parse a judgment or settlement when no clear breakdown between the claims was made.
