Barbara Fernandez and Concepcion Montoya to Present Webinar on Common Violations of the TCPA
Barbara Fernandez and Concepcion A. Montoya, partners in the Consumer Financial Services group at Hinshaw & Culbertson LLP, will present "Top 10 TCPA Violations: Prevention and Defenses" during a webinar hosted by Lorman Education Services. The webinar will take place on June 28, 2016 from 1:00–2:00 p.m. EST.
The program will cover the most common violations of the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA) committed by debt collectors, law firms and lending institutions who use an automatic telephone dialing system or artificial voice to place calls to cellular telephones. Ms. Fernandez and Ms. Montoya will also provide an overview and update on the state of TCPA litigation with a focus on recent interpretations of the TCPA, which have significantly affected the industries covered by this statute's breadth.

Barbara Fernandez, of Hinshaw's Miami office, focuses her litigation practice in the areas of consumer and class action litigation. She has extensive experience in the defense of individual and class action claims involving the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA), Florida Consumer Collection Practices Act, Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA) and practices regularly in Florida state and federal courts.
Concepcion A. Montoya, of Hinshaw's New York office, brings nearly 15 years of trial and litigation experience to her practice, specifically consumer defense and employment law. Ms. Montoya has litigated in the federal courts of New York and New Jersey in more than 40 class action lawsuits involving claims brought under various federal and state consumer and employment laws.
