About Roy

Roy focuses on corporate health care, representing hospitals and physician groups in corporate and regulatory matters. He counsels clients on compliance, joint ventures, physician contracting and compensation, medical practice formation, and practice acquisitions and sales.

He also handles regulatory, tax exemption, and accreditation matters, and drafts medical staff bylaws, corporate bylaws, managed care contracts, and medical legal policies.

Roy has led the firm's Health Care Practice Group and is a past president of the Illinois Association of Health Care Attorneys (IAHA), where he has actively contributed to the Program and Education Committees for many years.

Lead counsel on a complex healthcare system affiliation, which required drafting and shepherding through the legislative process a critical amendment to the Hospital Licensing Act.
Successfully counseled two hospitals through complex bankruptcy proceedings as appointed special counsel, protecting their operational and financial interests.
Secured surgical services and call coverage agreements for a large surgical group across four hospitals.
Represented a hospital in a three-phase acquisition of all physician and management company membership units in a surgery center.
