On Thursday, June 20, 2019, a group of Hinshaw attorneys—Jason Winslow, Danielle Costello, Roy Bossen, and Linda Horras—presented a workshop for members of the Illinois Critical Access Hospital Network (ICAHN). Attendees for the event included compliance officers and human resources professionals from ICAHN member hospitals.

Winslow kicked off the event with a presentation titled "Common Pitfalls in Medical Malpractice Cases." His program focused on litigation risks in the context of electronic medical records configuration and use.
In a presentation called "HIPAA Breaches and Notifications," Costello discussed risk assessments, necessary steps once a reportable breach is determined, and recent enforcement action.
Next, Roy Bossen presented "Compliance Programs," which focused on developing and implementing compliance programs, with an emphasis on essential elements of those programs.
The final program of the day titled "Essential Elements of an Employee Handbook" was presented by Linda Horras. She focused on updating handbooks in the healthcare industry and addressed sexual harassment investigations and avoidance.
