About Connie
With 25 years of experience in employment law and consumer protection defense, Connie handles litigation, investigations, and compliance matters in federal, state, and administrative courts. She counsels clients on risk management and all aspects of employment regulations and consumer defense. Her clients include publicly and privately held companies, nonprofits, government entities, and organizations in banking, finance, legal, technology, health care, food and beverage, manufacturing, and retail industries.
In labor and employment, Connie focuses on discrimination and harassment cases, defending clients against claims under Title VII, the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA), the Age Discrimination in Employment Act (ADEA), the Trafficking Victims Protection Act (TVPA), and the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), including allegations of sexual abuse and violence.

Experience
- Obtained a dismissal on behalf of the defendants of Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act (RICO), Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA), and fraud claims. The remaining claim was related to the Trafficking Victims Protection Act.
- Negotiated penalty violations from the high six figures to a four-figure settlement in a matter involving investigation, discovery and negotiations with a city agency.
- Secured a motion to dismiss on behalf of a financial services client in an alleged race discrimination case. The court found that bank holding companies are not liable for alleged misconduct by one of their subsidiaries.

Connie was born in the Philippines and is a graduate of Stuyvesant High School and New York University. Prior to Brooklyn Law School, she studied Theology and Ethics at Union Theological Seminary, earning a Masters of Divinity degree.
