Trio of Hinshaw Lawyers Discuss COVID-19-Related Issues Facing Debt Collectors

Judy Selby, Heather McArn, and Connie Montoya participated in virtual programs jointly hosted by Hinshaw and the New York State Collectors Association (NYSCA).
Selby and McArn presented "Compliance in a Post-COVID-19 World," on September 15, 2020. The pair discussed the new normal of remote work, including the impact of cybersecurity threats and the new security compliance and regulation measures that organizations should implement now to reduce their risk exposure.
The following day, Montoya presented "Avoiding Employment Pitfalls with Virtual Employees." In the session, she explored new remote working-related legal challenges facing employers during the COVID-19 crisis, and how employers can effectively mitigate related risks.
