Anthony Jacob serves as a trusted advisor to domestic and foreign corporations, limited liability companies; all types of partnerships, banks, private lenders, and other commercial lending institutions. Tony provides general corporate and commercial lending legal counsel, which includes:

  • various aspects of private merger, acquisition, divestiture and employee benefits matters;
  • secured and unsecured lending transactions, asset securitization and structured finance, ESOP loans, and syndicated commercial financing transactions;
  • initial debt and equity offerings, primary and secondary debt offerings; and
  • corporate reorganizations and restructuring, and joint ventures.

Tony also represents real estate developers with real estate acquisitions, divestitures, and condominium conversions, serving as an outside general counsel assisting with his clients’ construction, development, and liability protection strategies.

A significant part of Tony's practice includes Illinois election law. He counsels local and state elected officials, their political committees and other political committees, including independent expenditure committees. In addition, he represents the political action committees of corporations, nonprofit corporations, all types of partnerships, associations, and other business entities.

Tony currently serves as chair of Hinshaw's Commercial Transaction Practice Group. Before joining the firm in 2000, he served as deputy general counsel for the Illinois State Board of Elections and as an attorney with a Chicago law firm representing school districts, special education districts, other local governmental bodies, and candidates, public officials, and political committees.
