Hinshaw partners Anthony Jacob and Mark Carter authored separate chapters in the 2022 edition of the Illinois Institute for Continuing Legal Education's (IICLE) Limited Liability Companies. IICLE is the premier provider of continuing legal education in the State of Illinois. Founded in 1961, the Institute publishes a comprehensive set of handbooks designed by and for Illinois attorneys.
The Limited Liabilities Companies handbook provides practitioners with a comprehensive look at how to advise clients when structuring and working with limited liability companies. Mr. Jacob authored a chapter on the "Introduction to and Background of Illinois Limited Liability Companies." Mr. Carter authored a chapter on "Insolvency Implications for the Limited Liability Company and Its Members." Each chapter generally touches upon the material changes made to the Illinois LLC Act through the 2017 amendments and various statutory fixes added through subsequent amendments. Many “cutting edge” issues that were both generated and resolved by the amendments are also explored in this expansive analysis.
The 2022 Edition of Limited Liability Companies is available for purchase on the IICLE website.
