Charles Townsend Named a Best Mentor Finalist in the 2026 ALM Texas Legal Awards

Hinshaw & Culbertson LLP is pleased to announce that Charles Townsend, partner-in-charge of the Dallas office, has been named a finalist in the Best Mentor category of the 2026 Texas Legal Awards, presented by American Law Media (ALM).
Honorees will be recognized, and winners will be announced, at an awards dinner in Dallas on September 30, 2026.
“I am honored to be among the finalists for Best Mentor,” Charles said. “Mentoring the next generation is one of my key priorities as a leader. I am committed to providing day-to-day guidance, support, substantive feedback, and follow-up to my mentees. I also encourage other partners in Dallas to serve as mentors to our associates and early-career attorneys.”

ALM’s Texas Legal Awards program annually recognizes attorneys and law firms making a lasting impact on the Texas legal landscape.
The Best Mentor Category honors lawyers or legal professionals who have helped junior colleagues become better lawyers, passing along valuable knowledge and paving the way for advancement and stellar contributions to the profession.
About Charles
As partner-in-charge of Hinshaw’s Dallas office, Charles manages all aspects of the office’s day-to-day operations and oversees more than 30 attorneys and professional staff. He recently helped lead the Dallas office’s move to a new location.
In addition to his leadership role, he advises financial services companies on regulatory and compliance matters and represents clients in investigations and litigation arising under state and federal laws.
Charles is also actively involved in the Texas community. He has served on the Southwest Transplant Alliance’s Board of Directors for 15 years, is currently vice chairman, and played a key role in the organization’s recent coordination efforts with Texas Organ Sharing Alliance. He received a BA from the University of Texas at Austin and a JD from Southern Methodist University Dedman School of Law.
