About John

John represents domestic and international insurers and reinsurers in complex insurance coverage and reinsurance matters. In addition to helping insurance-company clients identify and avoid potential risks, he routinely litigates and arbitrates a broad range of insurance cases, including extra-contractual and bad faith claims, declaratory judgment actions, and mass tort, environmental, asbestos, managing general agent (MGA), rescission, reinsurance, and risk-pool disputes.

John handles matters involving occurrence-based and claims-made based coverage and is experienced in varied lines of insurance, including professional liability; directors and officers (D&O) liability; errors and omissions (E&O) for insurance brokers, lawyers, accountants, health care, and human resources professionals; employment practices liability (EPL); managed care liability; first-party property; cyber; comprehensive general liability (CGL) lines such as long-tail toxic tort (asbestos, lead paint, concussion, sexual abuse, talc, and environmental claims); and construction and advertising injury claims.

John has argued cases in and has deep familiarity with federal and state courts across the United States.
