The national law firm of Hinshaw & Culbertson LLP is pleased to announce that Terese A. Drew, Partner-in-Charge of the firm’s St. Louis office, was selected by the Missouri/Southern Illinois Chapter of the American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA) to serve as the chapter's representative on ABOTA's national Board of Delegates. Ms. Drew has been an ABOTA member since 2009. She was the second female invited to join the Missouri/Southern Illinois Chapter and served as its first female president for the organization's 2014–2015 year.
Founded in 1957, ABOTA — an invitation-only organization — seeks to foster improvement in the ethical and technical standards of practice in the field of advocacy to the end that individual litigants may receive more effective representation and the general public be benefited by more efficient administration of justice consistent with time-tested and traditional principles of litigation.
Ms. Drew — who has served as co-leader of Hinshaw's Personal Injury & Property Damage Practice Group — concentrates her trial practice in the defense of commercial general liability claims, including those involving: medical negligence allegations; products liability allegations; premises liability allegations; transportation; employment matters, including age, sex and race/origin discrimination allegations; and claims involving enforcement of the Americans with Disabilities Act and the Federal Employers Liability Act (FELA). Her clients include manufacturers, commercial transportation companies, municipalities, amusement/leisure industry manufacturers, retailers, and professional liability insurers. Ms. Drew's medical negligence matters have an emphasis on emergency physicians. Additionally, Ms. Drew has since 2006 been an adjunct professor at Saint Louis University School of Law, teaching trial advocacy.
