Ed Lenci Presents on Panel at Ireland For Law Event on Irish Law as the Gateway to Europe

Hinshaw partner Edward (“Ed”) Lenci will join the Attorney General of Ireland and other distinguished leaders of Ireland’s legal establishment on a panel titled “Common Law, Common Ground: Irish Law as the Gateway to Europe” at an Ireland For Law NYC Business Mission event on Thursday, September 10 at 6:00 pm EDT. The panel will discuss how Ireland’s unique court system and well-established common law framework serve as an ideal gateway for global corporations navigating cross-border commerce, regulation, and dispute resolution in the European market.

Ed has long advocated in the United States on behalf of Ireland as the preferred European forum for international arbitrations post-Brexit. He is a member of the International Advisory Board of Arbitration Ireland and, in Tokyo in 2019, represented Arbitration Ireland on a panel of representatives of the world’s premier arbitral organizations. He has moderated and spoken at events that connect the Irish and American legal communities, including Dublin International Arbitration Day, where he moderated a panel on diversity, equity, and inclusion in the selection of arbitrators. Like many Irish-Americans, Ed is descended from refugees of Ireland’s Great Famine, and his maternal grandmother instilled in him a lifelong pride in his Irish heritage.

The panel is presented in partnership with the Consulate General of Ireland, New York, and the New York State Bar Association (NYSBA), where Ed served with distinction as Chair of the International Section from 2021 – 2022.
