April Toy Named Among Wisconsin’s 31 Most Influential Latino Leaders of 2025 by Madison365

The law firm of Hinshaw & Culbertson LLP is pleased to announce that partner April Toy has been recognized among “Wisconsin’s 31 Most Influential Latino Leaders of 2025” by Madison365.
Madison365 is operated by 365 Media Foundation, a nonprofit organization based in Madison, Wisconsin, and features journalism aimed at fostering dialogue between members of diverse communities. For the past 10 years, it has published annual lists highlighting Wisconsin’s most influential Black, Latino, Indigenous, and Asian American leaders. The 2025 “Most Influential Latino Leaders of Wisconsin” directory recognizes 31 dedicated leaders of Wisconsin’s Latino communities who “are elected leaders, business leaders, and community leaders who are doing difficult, important work.”
April is an accomplished and skilled litigator with a proven record of representing clients in complex, high-stakes litigation and appellate cases. She has tried numerous cases successfully and handles a variety of legal matters, including commercial litigation, professional responsibility, and insurance coverage disputes.
This summer, April was also recognized by BizTimes Milwaukee as a 2025 Notable Latino Leader. As the daughter of a Salvadoran immigrant, she is dedicated to mentoring Hispanic and Latino associates and law students. April serves on the boards of several organizations that support Hispanic/Latino communities and other underserved groups.
She was recently elected to the National Executive Committee of the Hispanic National Bar Association (HNBA) and vice chair of the National Leadership Council of the Hispanic Alliance for Career Enhancement. Additionally, April served on the board of the Wisconsin Trust Account Foundation, which awards grants to organizations providing civil legal aid to underrepresented communities.
April also co-founded Wisconsin LAWtinas, a statewide informal network of Latina lawyers, legal professionals, and law students. The group meets quarterly to mentor members and offers educational resources on topics like financial planning, networking, and career growth.
