About Mitch

With over three decades of legal experience, Mitch focuses on commercial real estate, business transactions, and legalized cannabis. He draws on his background as outside counsel, corporate counsel, and in-house general counsel for a Minnesota medical marijuana manufacturer to advise clients on legal, compliance, regulatory, real estate management, corporate governance, and human resources matters. Mitch works with a wide range of clients, including those pursuing opportunities in Minnesota’s growing cannabis and hemp industries.

He serves as legal advisor to a tribal nation located in the territorial boundaries of Minnesota and helped negotiate a historic cannabis compact, the first in the United States to permit Tribal cannabis operations beyond sovereign land. Mitch is a board member of the Indigenous Cannabis Industry Association and chairs the firm's cannabis committee. He frequently speaks nationwide on cannabis law, including compliance, Tribal cannabis, and the connection between cannabis operations and commercial real estate.

Mitch played a key role in Minnesota’s landmark cannabis regulation bill and led negotiations on the historic White Earth Nation cannabis compact, the first allowing Tribal operations off sovereign land. He advises cannabis and hemp businesses on compliance, site acquisition, and market growth, combining his commercial real estate and cannabis experience.
