Mitchel Chargo Celebrates Third Consecutive Year on the Global Top 200 Cannabis Lawyers Directory by Cannabis Law Report

The law firm of Hinshaw & Culbertson LLP is pleased to announce that Mitchel Chargo, a partner and head of its Cannabis Law Committee, has been named by Cannabis Law Report to the Sixth Edition of the Global Top 200 Cannabis Lawyers 2025/2026. This marks the third consecutive year he has been listed in the directory.
Recognition among the world’s Top 200 Cannabis Lawyers is based on an annual survey of clients and lawyers within the cannabis legal service sector. The publication is a resource for entities seeking to source cannabis, hemp, and CBD legal practitioners in international jurisdictions.

Mitchel represents clients, including a tribal nation, in a range of legal matters related to Minnesota’s adult recreational and medicinal cannabis program, including regulatory compliance, licensing, financing, and corporate governance. Before joining Hinshaw, Mitchel was in-house general counsel for a Minnesota medical cannabis manufacturer, where he managed regulatory, corporate, and real estate matters.
An active member of the Indigenous Cannabis Industry Association’s (ICIA) Board of Directors, Mitchel is a valuable contributor to Minnesota’s cannabis legislation and regulations. With nearly 30 years of experience in commercial real estate and business transactions, he also has substantive experience advising on real estate loan transactions and corporate business matters, earning him recognition by his peers for inclusion in the 2026 edition of The Best Lawyers in America® for Real Estate Law, selection as a Twin Cities Business 2025 Notable Partner in Law, and membership among Minnesota Monthly’s 2025 Top Lawyers in Minnesota.
Mitchel is also president of The Institute for Holocaust Research and Education and a member of numerous professional organizations, including the International Cannabis Bar Association, the Society of Corporate Compliance and Ethics, and the Minnesota State Bar Association.
