David Levitt Appointed Chair of DRI's Third-Party Funding Committee

Hinshaw partner David H. Levitt has been appointed to chair the Third-Party Funding Working Group within the Defense Research Institute's (DRI's) Center for Law and Public Policy, effective March 13, 2018. DRI—recognized as "The Voice of the Defense Bar"—is the leading organization of defense attorneys and in-house counsel. As Working Group Chair, Levitt will oversee the development of ongoing and critical dialogue about third-party funding and related areas of practice.

Long active in DRI, Levitt is also a member of the Intellectual Property Committee's Steering Committee. He previously served as Chair (2009-2011) and Vice-Chair (2007-2009) of DRI's Intellectual Property Committee's Specialized Litigation Group.

Levitt is an experienced trial lawyer, with a primary focus on intellectual property, and also has extensive experience in insurance, commercial litigation, products liability and trucking. He received an LL.M from John Marshall Law School, a J.D. from Loyola University Chicago School of Law and a B.A. from the University of Illinois.
