The law firm of Hinshaw & Culbertson LLP today announced that Miami partner Steven D. Gonzalez has been selected as one of Florida Legal Elite’s 2025 Notable Real Estate/Land Use Attorneys by Florida Trend Magazine.
The 2025 Notable Real Estate/Land Use Attorney honorees are selected from Florida legal professionals who practice law “specializing in the area of real estate and/or land use with a professional staff size of at least 10; have practiced at least 10 years; and have made a significant impact in their field.”

Steven was recognized for his experience as a real estate attorney along with his deep knowledge, exceptional work ethic, leadership, and integrity. He consistently achieves successful outcomes for his clients, such as closing multi-million-dollar transactions in the student housing and workforce housing industries.
Steven assists clients in all facets of real estate development, financing, construction contracting, administration, and commercial dispute litigation. He handles development financing, including tax-exempt and taxable bond-financed projects, and negotiates design and construction contracts. Steven also manages project administration and dispute resolution and litigates complex construction cases. Additionally, he assists clients in corporate entity formation, including drafting operating agreements, structuring buy-outs, and resolving employment disputes.
Steven has been selected by his peers for inclusion in The Best Lawyers in America© for Litigation – Construction, 2018 – 2025; Construction Law, 2024 – 2025; and Florida Super Lawyers, Construction Litigation 2024.
Active in the community, Steven has volunteered and supported the Junior Orange Bowl/Junior International Golf Championship, which he has also served as the organization’s Chair for the last nine years.
Steven is also a member of the South Florida Chapter of the Association of General Contractors of America; the Dade County Bar Association’s Construction Law Committee; and the International Bar Association. He holds a J.D., cum laude, from New England School of Law and a B.A. from the University of Miami.
