Milwaukee Lawyer Jane C. Schlicht Joins the Intellectual Property Group of Hinshaw & Culbertson LLP

MILWAUKEE, Wis. – The national law firm of Hinshaw & Culbertson LLP announces that Jane C. Schlicht has joined the firm as a Partner in its Intellectual Property Practice Group. She will practice in Hinshaw’s Milwaukee office. Previously, Ms. Schlicht was a shareholder with Cook & Franke S.C., in Milwaukee.
“Jane is highly respected by the Milwaukee business community,” said Michael P. Malone, partner-in-charge of Hinshaw’s Milwaukee office. He added, “We are pleased that she will be working alongside us as we expand our office’s business litigation and intellectual property capabilities throughout the state and the region.”
David H. Levitt, chair of Hinshaw’s Intellectual Property Group, noted, “Jane’s experience handling a full-range of IP litigation bolsters our significant capabilities to represent businesses in intellectual property-related litigation and transactions.” He added, “Her addition will allow us to provide enhanced legal services to our clients both in Wisconsin and nationally.”
Ms. Schlicht counsels and advises her clients as to matters involving copyright infringement, patents and trademarks, as well as disputes involving restrictive covenants and trade secrets. She also handles copyright and trademark registrations, and proceedings before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office’s Trademark Trial and Appeal Board, and counsels her clients in business contracts and transactions.
Ms. Schlicht received her B.A. (1980) and J.D. (1983), both summa cum laude, from Marquette University.
