Hinshaw & Culbertson LLP today announced that partner Marissa Delinks has been named to the American Lawyer 2022 Northeast Trailblazers list. Each year, American Lawyer recognizes attorneys who have "moved the needle" and are "agents of change" in their respective fields. A member of Hinshaw's Appellate practice, Delinks has defended or prosecuted approximately 160 appeals since 2005, losing five. Many of her cases have created significant new case law. Over the last 16 years, she has handled several cases of first impression in Massachusetts, Connecticut, New Hampshire, Maine, and Vermont state courts and the First and Second Circuit Courts of Appeals.
"With her stellar track record, and her significant impact on state and federal case law, Marissa continues to influence the practice of law," said Samuel C. Bodurtha, partner-in-charge of the Boston office. "We're delighted that American Lawyer has recognized her as a 2022 Northeast Trailblazer."
In addition to her appellate practice, Delinks has an active professional liability defense practice and currently serves as the Co-Chair of the Professional Responsibility, Professional Liability & Risk Management Practice Group. She represents lawyers in civil actions and disciplinary proceedings before the Board of Bar Overseers and provides risk management and ethics counsel to lawyers and law firms nationwide. She also serves on the planning committee, as a moderator, and as a panelist for the annual Legal Malpractice & Risk Management (LMRM) Conference, the preeminent legal malpractice conference in the industry.
Through her leadership, Delinks has contributed to the growth of Hinshaw, assisting with the opening of the firm's Boston office in 2005.
Currently, she is a member of the firmwide Pro Bono Committee and handles between two and three pro bono cases annually. As chair of the Northeast Region, she approves all pro bono projects and coordinates representation in Boston, Rhode Island, New York, and New Jersey.
