The U.S. law firm of Hinshaw & Culbertson LLP is very pleased to announce that Ofonedu-Ime Goodwyn, a partner in the firm's Miami office, has been selected to the 2021 Class of Fellows of the Leadership Council on Legal Diversity (LCLD). Hinshaw also announced that New York-based associate Roshene Kemp and Chicago-based associate Thaddeus Harrell have been selected to participate in the 2021 LCLD Pathfinders Program.
LCLD—of which Hinshaw was a founding member in 2009—was established to improve the legal profession's diversity and inclusion performance. LCLD members include managing partners of prominent U.S. law firms, as well as the general counsel of major corporations. LCLD Fellows and Pathfinders are two of the "most comprehensive legal talent development programs in the country."
As a Fellow, Goodwyn will have access to virtual professional development tracks that focus on the unique needs of in-house and law firm attorneys, as well as a virtual speaker series that will highlight leadership and career development. As Pathfinders, Kemp and Harrell will participate in an extended series of virtual advice and informal networking events hosted by LCLD Alumni, as well as live, virtual follow-up sessions on independent and peer group assignments.
Goodwyn is a Florida Board Certified Real Estate Attorney with a reputation for delivering exceptional work product and providing responsive, high-quality client service. His practice focuses on real estate and commercial transactions, including corporate matters, secured lending transactions, and the acquisition, disposition, development, and leasing of real property. He is a graduate of Columbia University School of Law (J.D.) and the University of Pennsylvania (B.A.).
Kemp advises financial services institutions in consumer financial services litigation and lender liability and creditors' rights matters. She helps defend self-insured corporations in general liability matters, where she assists clients in preventing, mitigating, and managing exposure through risk, claims, and litigation management. She is a graduate of University of Detroit Mercy School of Law (J.D.) and the State University of New York at Buffalo (B.A.).
Harrell, the current co-chair of Hinshaw's Black Attorney Affinity Network, is a labor and employment attorney who advises employers on all aspects of the employment relationship, spanning from hire through termination, disability considerations, misclassification issues, employee misconduct and other disciplinary matters. He is a graduate of Valparaiso University School of Law (J.D.) and Barry University (B.A.).
