Dan Trevino Elected President of the Hispanic Lawyer's Association of Illinois

Chicago — The national law firm of Hinshaw & Culbertson LLP announced today that Chicago Partner Daniel A. Trevino was elected as President-Elect of the Hispanic Lawyers Association of Illinois (HLAI). Mr. Trevino will be installed as President- Elect on June 17, 2014, and will be installed as President in June 2015.
A strong leader among in the legal community and in the Chicago area, Mr. Trevino will carry out HLAI's mission to promote high standards of competence, professionalism and integrity with and among Hispanic attorneys and the Hispanic communities within the State of Illinois.
As a member of Hinshaw's Litigation Practice, Mr. Trevino concentrates his practice in the areas of product liability and transportation law. His experience includes the representation of trucking companies, and manufacturers and employers in personal and catastrophic injury litigation.
Mr. Trevino was previously appointed to a four year term as a Commissioner of the Illinois Medical District (IMD) in July 2011 by Rahm Emanuel, Mayor of the City of Chicago. The IMD is governed by seven Commissioners and is the largest urban healthcare, educational, research and technology district in the nation. Additionally, Mr. Trevino serves on the advisory committee for the mentorship program at his alma mater, St. Ignatius College Prep, serves as a volunteer coach for the Edgebrook-Sauganash Athletic Association, and is the pro bono legal affairs director for the Edgebrook Community Association. The Hispanic Lawyers Association of Illinois (HLAI) is a not-for-profit corporation that was established in 1995. HLAI was formed through the joining of its predecessor organizations, the Latin American Bar Association and the Mexican American Lawyers Association, which had previously served the Hispanic legal community in Illinois since 1970. HLAI serves all of Illinois, including Chicago and all surrounding suburbs, including Aurora, Elgin, Naperville, Elmhurst, Des Plaines, Mt.
