Cathy Mulrow-Peattie Selected for Crain’s New York 2026 Notable Women in Law

Hinshaw & Culbertson LLP is pleased to announce that partner Cathy Mulrow-Peattie was selected by Crain’s New York Business for its 2026 Notable Women in Law.
Cathy is among 131 leading women attorneys in New York who are advancing justice, raising the bar of excellence across multiple legal service areas, helping clients solve complex regulatory and business challenges in an ever-changing regulatory and technological environment, and are dedicated to mentoring, pro bono, and community service.

As co-leader of Hinshaw’s nationally recognized Data Privacy, AI, and Cybersecurity practice since 2023 and a member of the Commercial Transactions team, Cathy has built out and driven the group’s client and internal growth. A dedicated mentor, she continues her work to attract women to the once male-dominated cybersecurity and AI compliance field through her role on the management committee of the University of San Diego Cybersecurity Risk and Law Symposium, which she helped found in 2019.
She advises companies and organizations on evolving regulatory, contractual, reputational, and litigation risks related to changing technology and the increased use of AI and data. In her role as the firm’s practice leader, Cathy helps guide her team in working across multiple disciplines to protect critical assets of clients and manage their business and regulatory risks. She counsels companies in a range of industries, with a focus on advertising and marketing, automotive, e/m-commerce and technology, financial services, healthcare, and insurance.
In addition to her leadership role and active legal work, Cathy serves on the Advisory Board of the Future of Privacy Forum and is actively involved in numerous professional organizations, including Women in RegTech, Women in Cybersecurity, FinCyber Femmes, and New York City InfraGard, and formerly served on the IAPP Education Advisory Board.
She is committed to pro bono service, serving as legal counsel to Musicians on Call and the XR Association. Cathy also volunteers with the Rotary Club of Norwalk, Connecticut, currently on food insecurity issues.
