Steven M. Puiszis, a Chicago-based partner in the Lawyers for the Profession® group at Hinshaw & Culbertson LLP, was quoted in the article "Judge might let prosecutors keep some records in Doe probe," published by the Journal Sentinel on April 13, 2016.
Mr. Puiszis, who represents the prosecutors who were sued by a former member of Gov. Scott Walker's administration, argued in support of a motion to dismiss those claims that "[w]e had a John Doe judge who had no political ax to grind against anyone who reviewed this case, [t]here's no allegation the judge acted with any political motivation or intent." He further argued that the probes were not retaliatory as the plaintiff in the federal lawsuit had been granted immunity and the work of prosecutors was overseen by the John Doe judge.
