Milwaukee-based Hinshaw & Culbertson LLP partners Russell A. Klingaman and Thomas R. Schrimpf were quoted in a Wisconsin Law Journal article addressing the evolving legal landscape — at the state and federal levels — involving drones. The article, "Up in the Air: Drones Changing Legal Field up in the Air: Drones Changing Legal Field," was published in September 2015 issue of the magazine.
As noted in the article, "Russ Klingaman, an aviation lawyer, and Tom Schrimpf, an insurance lawyer . . . have made it a point in recent years to keep tabs on the increasing use of drone technology. Their goal, they say, is to figure how the trend will ultimately reshape the law." In August 2015, they co-authored the article "Recreational Drones: Do Homeowners’ Insurance Policies Provide Coverage?," which was published August 4, 2015, in Claims Journal. That article addresses the question of the extent to which, if at all, a homeowners' insurance policy will cover a claim for damage done by the policyholder's recreational drone.
