Janis M. Meyer authored the article "How To Close A Law Firm — Practically And Ethically," published by Law360 on July 11, 2016.

Ms. Meyer says that while there is no "one size fits all," some of the tasks that should be on the firm's radar include: reviewing the firm's governing agreement and applicable law; planning for employee departures; transferring client files efficiently and ethically; arranging for the safe transfer of records and escrow accounts; and paying attention to insurance issues.
