Hinshaw attorney Jack Shadid authored two chapters in the newly released 2026 edition of the Illinois Institute for Continuing Legal Education (IICLE) “Business Bankruptcy Practice” handbook.
IICLE, the leading provider of continuing legal education in Illinois since 1961, publishes resources designed to support and educate Illinois attorneys on the latest developments in the legal profession.
About the Handbook
This comprehensive handbook serves as a practical guide to business bankruptcy, covering the Small Business Reorganization Act of 2019 and core topics such as Chapter 7, §541 property of the estate, claims, priorities, and distributions, trustee duties and avoiding powers, involuntary cases, post-petition financing, executory contracts, and out-of-court alternatives.
It also addresses Illinois common-law assignments for the benefit of creditors and special issues involving farm debtors, LLCs, and commercial real estate.
