Pedro Hernandez—Florida-based partner and co-chair of Hinshaw's global Insurance Services Practice Group—discussed in a Daily Business Review article the recent attorney additions to Hinshaw's South Florida offices, along with a post-COVID-19 boom in demand for insurance coverage, construction and real estate services in the region.
Hernandez pointed to the recent addition of partner Jorge Canamero as an example of Hinshaw seeking to address client needs and business opportunities related to a surge in insurance defense litigation that followed the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic. He also referenced the recent additions of associates Paige Bennett and Anthony Saker to Hinshaw's South Florida legal team.
Canamero manages and executes all aspects of litigating commercial insurance defense cases on behalf of insurance companies and provides counsel in insurance coverage and commercial disputes. In addition, he has significant experience in complex commercial litigation and high-stakes business disputes, including contract claims and real estate issues. Read the firm's press release announcing Canamero's addition.
In the article, Hernandez noted that Canamero’s ability to handle a case starting before a suit is even filed and seeing it all the way to verdict represents an extremely valuable skillset for the firm's clients. He also discussed how Florida’s population boom is fueling construction and broader business activity.
