Hinshaw's Ken Yeadon Considers Possible Changes to DOJ Enforcement Priorities under the Trump Administration

Hinshaw partner Ken Yeadon, former assistant U.S. attorney, and a former SEC enforcement attorney, spoke with Jaclyn Jaeger of Compliance Week about whether the transition from the Obama Administration to the new Trump Administration might bring changes to U.S. Department of Justice enforcement priorities and tactics.
Yeadon considered it significant that President Trump has requested Preet Bharara to stay on as U.S. attorney in the Southern District of New York. “Mr. Bharara's tenure as U.S. Attorney has included a number of high profile insider trading and public corruption cases against individuals and cases against financial institutions," he noted. "By retaining Mr. Bharara as U.S. Attorney, it appears that the new administration is likely to continue to prosecute those kinds of cases.”
