An April 13, 2015 Morris Daily Herald article — "Committee Aims to Retain Rick Porter" — discusses efforts by Grundy County, Illinois to retain Richard S. Porter, a partner in the firm's Government Practice, to work on an intergovernmental agreement for Brisbin Road pre-annexation efforts. The road runs through the towns of Minooka and Morris.
As noted in the article, Assistant Illinois State's Attorney Perry Rudman said "Brisbin Road is relatively uncomplicated to look at but it isn't found in textbooks or case law[.] We need an expert to look over the agreement so we don't overlook revenue that should come our way." He also said that "he feels better knowing that someone knowledgeable about intergovernmental agreements will be working on the project." Said Grundy County Board Chairman David Welter in the article, "Rick has worked with us on projects like the windmills, and he has worked with the city, as well." Morris Mayor Dick Kopczick indicates in the article that "it comes down to a matter of trust."
