Hinshaw & Culbertson LLP partner Concepcion A. Montoya and the Filipino American Lawyers Association of New York hosted an intimate conversation with Commissioner Carmelyn P. Malalis of the New York City Commission on Human Rights on October 29, 2015 in the firm’s New York office. The evening event was held to celebrate Filipino American History Month and to allow minority bar association participants to ask questions of Commissioner Malalis who is a Filipina-American and LGBT person. Ms. Montoya interviewed Commissioner Malalis to reveal a very candid, insightful, and inspirational discussion concerning Ms. Malalis’s role with working with minority communities, being a minority lawyer and the Commission on Human Rights.
