Connie Montoya Recognized as a 2022 Distinguished Filipino Woman by Philippine Consulate General in New York

The U.S. law firm Hinshaw & Culbertson LLP is pleased to announce that partner Connie Montoya was recently recognized by the Philippine Consulate General in New York as one of 2022's Distinguished Filipino Women. In a March 30 ceremony, the Consulate General honored Montoya and three other Filipina-Americans for their contributions in breaking the glass ceiling and empowering women.

Montoya has over two decades of experience in employment law and consumer protection defense. She is a member of Hinshaw's Diversity Committee as well as a board member for both the National Association of Women Lawyers and the Lambda Legal Defense and Education Fund. She also provides pro bono work including the handling of immigration and employment matters for the Asian American Legal and Education Fund, specifically individuals affected by the Development, Relief, and Education for Alien Minors, or "DREAM" Act. Montoya was recognized as the Philippines’ honoree at the Society of Foreign Consuls in 2020, selected as one of the Nation’s Best Lawyers of Color in 2019 and received the Distinguished Alumni Award from the Asian Pacific American Law Students Association of Brooklyn Law School in 2017.
