About Melinda
Melinda focuses her practice on civil litigation and regulatory and compliance matters for health care service providers and governmental entities. She handles complex cases at every stage of litigation and has served as Special Assistant Attorney General for the State of Illinois.
She advises hospitals, physician groups, skilled nursing facilities, and other health care providers on licensure issues, security risk assessments, compliance with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and state privacy laws, and Medicare and Medicaid enrollment and revalidation. Melinda also drafts medical staff and corporate bylaws and provides guidance in developing medical-legal policies.

Melinda is a 200-hour certified yoga instructor. Before law school, she helped found The Collective St. Louis, a non-profit, donation-based yoga studio in St. Louis, Missouri. If she wasn't practicing law, Melinda might have pursued a career as an English professor.
