Join Hinshaw's Amanda Almeda, Congressman Ted W. Lieu, and Commissioner Janani Ramachandran for an important and timely panel discussion on May 11, 2021, titled "A Time to Take a Stand: Combating Hate Crimes Against the AAPI Community."
Panelists will address the rise in hate crimes and violence against the Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) community in California—including the impact COVID-19 has had on hate crimes against Asian Americans. The presentation will also provide insights on social responsibility and the next steps for joining the efforts to combat these issues.
The program will also include a moment of silence to honor the courageous individuals who have experienced violence and tragedy due to their AAPI identity.
Who Should Attend
Anyone interested in bringing about change and supporting the effort to shift the culture of violence in the AAPI community in California is encouraged to attend. This includes businesses and members of the legal community, law enforcement, school personnel, and religious groups, as well as parents, residents, and community organizers.
