Hinshaw & Culbertson LLP is pleased to announce that New Orleans CityBusiness has selected partners Bonnie Dye and Colleen Jarrott to its 2024 Women of the Year list. All honorees will be recognized at an event on November 4 at the New Orleans Museum of Art.
Each year, New Orleans CityBusiness honors 50 women leaders in the New Orleans community. Honorees are selected based on their business and community involvement and achievements that have set the pace for the community and region.
A member of Hinshaw’s Consumer Financial Services practice group, Dye advises companies on regulatory compliance issues related to consumer lending, auto finance, mortgage, and collections. She was instrumental in developing and implementing the firm’s recently launched licensing portal, designed to create efficiencies and assist consumer financial services clients with licensing needs in all 50 states.
In addition to her law practice, Dye has dedicated her time and talent to nonprofit and community service organizations. She is a longtime member and previous Community Outreach Chairperson of the Association for Women Attorneys (AWA)–New Orleans. In this role, she coordinated numerous events to support the New Orleans Women and Children’s Shelter and the Metro Center for Community Advocacy. She also previously served as Chairperson of AWA’s Food from the Bar campaign in support of Second Harvest. Currently, she serves as treasurer of the board for the New Orleans Women and Children’s Shelter. Dye and her sister are co-owners of Café Bon Ami in the New Orleans Central Business District.
Jarrott is a partner and co-leader of Hinshaw’s Energy and Environment industry groups. She advises energy companies across Louisiana on legislative and regulatory matters related to oil & gas matters and carbon capture, utilization, and sequestration (CCUS). With a focus on traditional and renewable energy, she practices on the cutting edge of legal issues implicated by the energy transition and technological advancements in the industry.
In addition to her law practice, she also serves on Hinshaw’s Succession Planning Committee and is actively involved in strategic planning initiatives shaping the firm’s expansion. Jarrott is actively involved in regulatory and legislative initiatives related to the Louisiana Geologic Sequestration of Carbon Dioxide Act. She serves on the Carbon Capture Committee of the Louisiana Oil & Gas Association.
Jarrott is active in numerous civic and nonprofit organizations. She was appointed to the Louisiana Appleseed Board of Directors earlier this year. Currently, she is co-leader of the Development Committee and co-chair of the Louisiana Good Apple Luncheon on October 17, 2024. Jarrott is also a founding member of the Board of Directors for the Women’s Energy Network–South Louisiana chapter, previously serving as president of the chapter and organizer of the biennial National Conference for the Women’s Energy Network National Chapter in 2019. In addition, she is a sustaining member of the Junior League of New Orleans.
Jarrott is active in the Louisiana Bar Foundation, where she has served on the Board of Directors for the last two years, and the New Orleans Bar Foundation, where she was President from 2022-2023. She now serves on the Board of Directors of the New Orleans Bar Association and is a member of the Catholic University of America Alumni Association Board of Directors.
