Hinshaw is pleased to announce that Tom Kuzmanovic, partner in charge of the firm’s Milwaukee office, was selected by BizTimes Milwaukee for its 2025 Notable Litigators & Trial Attorneys.
The award recognizes attorneys for their exceptional leadership, mentoring, and history of successfully managing high-profile litigation matters.
Tom has a long track record of successfully representing clients in high-stakes litigation nationwide and internationally. He represents clients across a wide array of industries, including insurance, transportation, construction, financial services, and manufacturing.
Among his recent notable cases, he successfully secured a victory on behalf of Mode Transportation Inc., a freight broker, in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Wisconsin. The case has ongoing significant implications for freight brokers nationwide because the court agreed with his argument that the personal injury claims were preempted by the FAAAA, a federal statute.
As partner-in-charge of the firm’s Milwaukee office, he successfully oversaw the relocation of the office to its current premier downtown location at BMO Tower, ensuring a smooth transition to an updated space that supports continued growth and enhanced collaboration. In addition, Tom serves as a member of Hinshaw’s management team and has played a significant role in the firm’s recent expansion in size and profitability.
Tom is actively involved in mentoring younger attorneys and also teaches an international law class at the University of Wisconsin Law School. Additionally, he is dedicated to community service and currently serves as president of the Federation of Croatian Societies. In this role, he helped lead efforts to raise $2 million for the renovation of Croatian Park and the construction of a three-season pavilion for community cultural events.
