Steven Puiszis Inducted as a Fellow of the American Bar Foundation

CHICAGO, Ill – Steven M. Puiszis, a Partner in the Chicago office of Hinshaw & Culbertson LLP, has been inducted as a Fellow of the American Bar Foundation (ABF).
The Fellows is an honorary organization of attorneys, judges, law faculty and legal scholars who have been elected by their peers to become members. They have demonstrated outstanding achievements and dedication to the welfare of their communities and to the highest principles of the legal profession. Established in 1955, The Fellows support the ABF’s research work through their annual contributions and sponsor seminars and events of direct relevance to leaders of the legal profession. Membership in The Fellows is limited to one third of one percent of lawyers licensed to practice in each jurisdiction. Members are nominated by Fellows in their jurisdiction and elected by the ABF’s Board.
Mr. Puiszis is a well-known and highly experienced trial attorney. A large focus of his practice involves municipal and civil rights litigation. Mr. Puiszis has handled a variety of claims in state and federal court on behalf of many units of state and local government. He is the author of Illinois Governmental Tort and Section 1983 Civil Rights Liability,. Mr. Puiszis also represents clients in class action, commercial, and products liability litigation as well as in professional liability matters.
Mr. Puiszis earned his J.D. in 1979 from Loyola University Chicago School of Law, and his B.Sc., with highest honors, from DePaul University in 1976.
