The law firm of Hinshaw & Culbertson LLP is pleased to announce that partner Ofonedu-Ime Goodwyn has been named a fellow of the American College of Mortgage Attorneys (ACMA). ACMA is comprised of skilled mortgage law attorneys from across North America, and fellowship is by nomination only. Goodwyn and the other 2023 Fellows will be officially inducted in a ceremony at the ACMA Annual Meeting, September 27-30, 2023.
Fellows share a commitment to giving back to their profession, improving and reforming laws and procedures affecting real estate-secured transactions, and raising the level of professionalism in this area of law. To be eligible for fellowship in ACMA, nominees must have distinguished themselves as practitioners in the field of real estate mortgages through their bar association activities, lecturing, authoring articles and program materials, participation in the legislative process, and writing briefs or arguing cases that are significant to mortgage transactions.
Goodwyn is a partner and Florida Bar Board Certified Real Estate Attorney in Hinshaw's Miami office. His practice focuses on real estate and commercial transactions. In addition to his practice, Goodwyn serves as the Vice Chair of the Florida Bar's Real Estate Certification Committee, which writes and grades the Real Estate Exam, and he is the incoming Committee Chair effective July 1, 2023.
Goodwyn is also a 2021 Fellow of the Leadership Council on Legal Diversity (LCLD), an organization dedicated to building a more equitable and diverse legal profession. He serves as the board chair of Neighborhood Housing Services of South Florida (NHSSF), a local community development organization, CDFI, and HUD-Approved Housing Counseling agency, which provides a full spectrum of homeownership services to stabilize communities and assist potential homebuyers.
