Nia Binns Honored With 2026 Rising Star Award by the Black Women Lawyers’ Association

Hinshaw & Culbertson LLP is delighted to announce that Chicago associate Nia Binns has been recognized as a 2026 Rising Star Award recipient by the Black Women Lawyers’ Association (BWLA).
During the BWLA’s annual Installation and Awards Ceremony on June 3, 2026, the association installed its 2026–2027 Board Leaders and honored dedicated members with awards acknowledging their outstanding leadership, service, and contributions.
The Rising Star Award recognizes Nia’s contributions to the association during the 2025–2026 bar year, specifically her service as Chair of the BWLA Health and Wellness Committee.
About the BWLA
Founded in 1987, the Black Women Lawyers’ Association of Greater Chicago, Inc. (BWLA) is one of the fastest-growing bar associations in Illinois, representing African-American female attorneys, judges, law professors, and law students across the Chicago metropolitan area and the Midwest.
The BWLA serves its membership and the broader community through educational programs, mentoring and networking opportunities, scholarship awards, and community outreach. Committed to addressing the barriers African-American women lawyers face, the BWLA promotes excellence, inclusion, and positive change in the legal profession through coalition-building, programming, and diversity initiatives.
About Nia
Nia focuses her practice on financial services litigation and is committed to representing financial institutions, mortgage servicers, lenders, and other industry clients in state and federal courts. She is engaged in all stages of litigation and supports matters involving consumer protection laws and related financial services disputes.
