The U.S. law firm of Hinshaw & Culbertson LLP is pleased to announce that Hinshaw partner Michael Dowell has been recognized as a "Top Health Care Lawyer" in California by The Daily Journal. The list honors leading California attorneys who focus on health care litigation, transactions, and counseling, with honorees selected by Daily Journal editors from nominations submitted by lawyers statewide. The Los Angeles and San Francisco Daily Journals provide information on the legal industry, real estate and general business in California.

In a profile, Dowell - a former pharmacist - explained that pharmacies represent nearly half of the transactional and regulatory work he handles for clients. He discussed some of the recent work he has handled, including advising on regulatory issues, telehealth, licensing, M&A transactions and Medicare contracting. He also discussed work he performs on behalf of some of the largest FQHCs in the country, as well as special federally sanctioned health care plans known as PACE programs.
