Hinshaw & Culbertson LLP is pleased to announce that the firm's Managing Partner, Robert T. Shannon, has been selected to the Leadership Greater Chicago (LGC) 2025 Cohort of The Daniel Burnham Fellowship for Executives. He was selected among a group of 28 accomplished CEOs and senior executives from the Greater Chicago region's leading corporate, nonprofit, government, and educational institutions.
First launched in 2019, The Daniel Burnham Fellowship by Leadership Greater Chicago is an accelerated civic program for senior executives who help positively shape the future of Chicago through their roles as change leaders and decision-makers. The exclusive six-session program inspires participants to engage with the city's civic fabric and make a positive impact on the Greater Chicago Region.
"For more than 90 years, our firm has been a proud contributor to Chicago's civic and business culture," said firm chairman Peter Sullivan. "We are delighted that Bob has been selected for the Daniel Burnham Fellowship program. Given his commitment to the city along with his deep experience in the Chicago legal community, I can't think of anyone better suited to help impact Chicago's civic and economic future."
Originally founded in 1983, the LGC is a premier civic leadership program. Its network of nearly 1,500 Fellows (Signature and Daniel Burnham) represents the most prominent corporate, nonprofit, government, and education organizations in the Greater Chicago area.
Shannon is an accomplished attorney who guides clients through the intersection of law, government, and politics. A veteran litigator, he has represented high-profile clients and achieved notable successes, including receiving the top Chicago defense verdict of the year for his representation of the Chicago White Sox.
In addition to his litigation work, Shannon advises various Chicago businesses, nonprofits, and public entities, holding several significant positions, including as a Special Assistant Attorney General for the State of Illinois, Special Assistant State's Attorney, and Special Assistant Corporation Counsel for the City of Chicago.
As Hinshaw's managing partner, he collaborates with the firm's management committee, culture committees, practice group leaders, and C-suite to develop and advance its strategic plan and goals. Actively involved in the community, Shannon engages with several professional organizations in Chicago, including the Economic Club of Chicago and the Chicago Inn of Court.
