Jill Eckhaus and Hillary Weigle Re-appointed to Illinois Defense Counsel Committee Leadership Roles

The law firm of Hinshaw & Culbertson LLP is pleased to announce that Hinshaw partners Jill Eckhaus and Hillary Weigle have been re-appointed to Illinois Defense Counsel (IDC) committee leadership positions for the 2024 – 2025 term.
Eckhaus will continue serving as Vice Chair of the Medical Malpractice & Healthcare Law Committee. Weigle will continue her role as Chair of the Construction Law Committee, which she has held since 2018 and previously served as Vice Chair. Both partners have also served on the IDC’s Board of Directors since 2023.
The IDC is a community of defense attorneys dedicated to improving the judicial system and the practice of law. IDC members are attorneys in Illinois who primarily represent business, corporate, insurance, professional, and other individual defendants in civil litigation. Learn more at idc.law.
Eckhaus manages all aspects of the litigation process and advocates for her clients. She represents hospitals, nurses, physicians, dentists, and chiropractors in medical negligence and catastrophic injury proceedings, including actions for wrongful death. Additionally, Eckhaus represents clients in construction and security matters as part of her general liability and personal injury practice.
Weigle concentrates her litigation practice on defending insurers in matters involving construction, catastrophic personal injury and wrongful death, premises liability, design and construction professionals, and product liability. She has served as lead counsel in more than 20 jury trials relating to construction, insurance, and general liability matters, including construction defect claims and insurance coverage disputes.
