Hinshaw & Culbertson LLP represented DL3 Realty LP in its negotiation of a lease with Whole Foods Market Inc. for the development of a new store at the corner of South Halsted and West 63rd, slated to open in 2016. The store, which will be part of a larger development located in the Englewood neighborhood of Chicago, is being touted by Mayor Rahm Emmanuel as “a true win-win.” The neighborhood is currently considered a food desert, and many officials are optimistic about the economic growth a full-service grocery store with the cache of Whole Foods, along with other mixed-use retail, will bring to the area.
DL3 Realty is a commercial real estate company that focuses on the development and management of education, health care and grocery anchored retail projects in Chicago's urban communities.
Partner Nicholas S. Legatos led the Hinshaw team, with assistance from partner Neil S. Rollnick.
